Histopathology Research Unit

Integrated with the imaging and force spectroscopy units of the Collaborative Advanced Microscopy Laboratories of Dentistry (CAMiLoD) at the University of Toronto, the Histopathology Research Unit (HRU) provides histopathology services to process, embed, section and stain soft tissue, hard tissue, and implant materials. HRU is also equipped to perform cryo-embedding and sectioning and to prepare tissue microarrays.  Routine and specialized histochemical, as well as immunohistochemical or immunofluorescent staining can be performed at HRU, and be fully digitized using the slide scanning service and/or advanced microscopy capabilities offered by CAMiLoD.

 

As with the imaging and force spectroscopy units of CAMiLoDHRU also provides services internally for researchers at the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as for all researchers at academic institutions, hospitals, and industry, nationally or internationally.

Formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) and cryopreserved samples:

HRU offers fully serviced and automated histology processing, including acid or EDTA based demineralization of hard tissue, grossing, for paraffin- or cryo- embedding and sectioning  by an experienced histopathologist. Click on one of the links below for pricing details.
