Innovation and scientific research are the driving forces propelling scientific research forward, constantly evolving and advancing to new heights. With each breakthrough, researchers are empowered to conquer even the most intricate scientific challenges, pushing the boundaries of their research scope.

Founded in 2019, CAMiLoD - The Collaborative Advanced Microscopy Laboratories of Dentistry, integrates the microscopy, histology and mechanical testing laboratories at the Faculty of Dentistry. Its noble mission? To grant researchers from all walks of life access to cutting-edge technologies and advanced microscopy, unlocking a world of possibilities that were once beyond imagination!

The latest addition to the CAMiLoD fleet is the 10x Genomics Xenium Analyzer, a spatial transcriptomics system that stands at the pinnacle of scientific excellence. Together with other ground-breaking technologies, and complementing analysis software, these resources are now accessible by both internal and external researchers.

  • Comprehensive range of services including histology, mechanical testing, imaging, transcriptomics and analysis, tailored to meet the specific requirements of each research project, thereby optimizing and personalizing the services offered.

  • Integrated environment (cell culture, microscopy, testing and histology services).

  • Houses state-of-the-art microscopy: e.g. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), etc.

  • Experts at CAMiLoD provide interactive training regime tailored to researcher needs.

  • Biosafety Level 2 facility.

  • Specialized microscopy training & customized image analysis workshops.

  • Online training & workshops hosted by industry experts/analysts.

  • Networking events hosted by world renowned scientists.

  • Various microscopy courses for researchers/students.
